In the first sixth months of Futureworks’ support service starting, over 85% of clients have entered work or full-time education. The support service is a new initiative by Futureworks NY, working with young people who struggle with various issues which prevent progression into work or education. The support service is primarily one-to-one between mentors and clients with some group activities where appropriate.
Learners, volunteers, and staff at Futureworks NY brought home two awards at the annual Muck and Magic awards. The first award was the Gold Medal for “Most Cared for Small Community or Neighbourhood 2015” won by our work on the Grand Project. Our young learners won the “Young Person’s Cup” for their work with community gardens at Futureworks. The awards ceremony held at The Spa was attended by staff, volunteers and learners from Futureworks NY.
We are holding an open event to celebrate the work of our learners and volunteers on our gardening project at The Grand Hotel! Join us on Tuesday 11th August at 1:30pm at Evelyn’s Border just below the Grand Hotel. You can contact us via telephone or email about this event.
