Furniture Works in Scarborough
Just moments from the town centre and with bus routes close by, this new venture from Futureworks NY is the town’s ‘go to’ place for pre-loved, up-cycled and restored furniture and interiors.
Our workshop is at the rear of the premises with a retail unit and shop window to the front. We have a new dedicated website and facebook page.
We first opened in autumn 2020 and we’ve had a successful first year in business. We are looking forward to seeing what the future brings!
Commissions
We take commissions for beloved pieces of furniture, restoring them to their former glory or ensuring our skilled team can completely transform an item into a stunning addition to your home. Prices vary so please get in touch with us for costs and for collection/delivery details.
Up-cycling
Rather than send that piece of furniture to landfill, let us up-cycle it ready for its next owner!
Visit the Furniture Works Website here!
Furniture Restoration
An exciting opportunity to buy a bespoke piece of furniture created by our young people at budget prices.
Pieces can be bought through our Facebook Page or call to discuss having your existing furniture upcycled.
If you have any pieces you wish to donate, we can pick up and drop off too.
Learning Skills
This new and exciting venture will give our learner the chance to acquire new skills and contribute to the wider community.
Our past projects have included renovation of a house in the Scarborough and our popular furniture upcycling workshops.
There will be chance for our learners to acquire customer service skills and retail experience.
How it works
Please get in touch with the team with regards to furniture you might wish to donate; you can also request for more information about our bespoke commissions; also find out more about our upcycling!
Furniture Works is linked to Scarborough’s Futureworks NY project, which is a not for profit CIC based in the seaside town.

Jonny’s confidence has grown so much since he started with us that he’s even stated that he has learned more with us than he did at school. We arranged an interview with the local Skills Village and Jonny to discuss his future and a possible apprenticeship in plastering which was very successful, and Jonny is now on working with them up at the Skills Village.
