Another busy week for the Futureworks team as the house renovations continue in earnest. We are currently at the “OMG” stage of the project: we enter the house, take a look around at the dark, dingy rooms and wonder what on earth we’ve got ourselves into! Then we remember that things have to get worse before they can get better…
HUGE thanks must be given to the following this week: Kiwi and CK Building for the damp proofing and plastering work that is currently being undertaken, Ski at Crown Decorating for the fantastic donation of wallpaper and paint, and last but definitely by no means least, to the wonderful Yvonne at B&Q for the amazing donation of a bathroom suite! (and not forgetting the plants too). We are so pleased for the help given to us so far and can’t thank everyone enough.
Yesterday the team went to remove the kitchen that Michelle sourced online. Who knew that a cooker could be so heavy?! We now have kitchen units, a pot sink and worktops at the ready. Our learners have been amazing – they are full of enthusiasm and keen to learn. We can’t wait to start putting the house back together!!
