Get Your Skates On in Scarborough!

If you’re in Scarborough shopping or enjoying the beach between 3rd December 2021 and 2nd January 2022, then head to North Street in the town centre … just remember to wrap up warm!

The new ice rink will be in place between the above dates and is part of the Scarborough Sparkle event for Christmas and New Year.

And here at Futureworks NY we are so proud of the fact we’ll have a banner at the event, showcasing to everyone the work we do in Scarborough and the surrounding area. Hurrah!

If you’re a newbie to the ice rink, then don’t worry as anyone is welcome, including wheelchair users and those with mobility issues.

There will be relaxed sessions on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays with the music turned down and flashing lights switched off.

The rink will be open daily, Monday to Saturday 11am to 8pm and 10am to 7pm on Sundays.

Admission is on the hour, every hour with skating sessions lasting 50 minutes.

You can pre-book with tickets costing £10 for adults and £8 for children. You can book here.

We look forward to seeing you there!

It’s All Sweet This Christmas!

It’s All Sweet This Christmas!

Christmas is a time to INDULGE!

And here at Futureworks NY headquarters, we have really pushed the boat out!

We teamed up with So… Visualise recently (we’ve worked with Lisa and her team before), this time to help them create gigantic confectionary. Unfortunately, these giant sweets were not edible … we will explain …

With the festive season well underway, Lisa and her crew were helping create a special dining room experience for the Kingspan Christmas meal. Kingspan has a large site in Sherburn just off the A64 and you’ve probably seen their lorries in the area.

This year’s theme at the Kingspan meal had a sweet angle with oversized sweets, large stripy candy canes, a coal-effective fire and a fairy light archway to greet the guests and the tableware matched the bright red and white colour scheme. It looked totally stunning!

We helped make lots and lots and lots of enormous sweets … as mentioned, none of them were edible but we had a plentiful supply of biscuits to keep us going!

It was a huge honour to help Lisa with the Kingspan event, which took place earlier in December at The Spa, South Bay, Scarborough.

You can imagine our surprise and delighted when Kingspan donated £200 to our funds, too! We were totally chuffed at this … thank you, Kingspan!

We really enjoyed helping this event to really ‘pop’ and thank you to Lisa, her team and of course Kingspan for giving us the opportunity.

We wish everyone a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year … we’ll keep you posted with lots of things happening in 2020!
