Adult Training
Preparing you for something new
Two projects we are currently involved with are Multiply and Rise2Thrive.
Multiply is the Government-funded initiative helping transform lives of adults across the UK. It is delivered through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
The funding is allocated to providers such as ourselves so we can deliver activities to support individuals with their numeracy skills.
For Futureworks NY, we offer support with budget, financial planning and workshop sessions (furniture restoration) using embedded number work such as measuring.
Our team can also offer functional skills for those who’ve gained confidence and want to get accredited. This particular project is open to those aged 19 years or over.
Rise2Thrive helps us to work with adults who are in work and may require additional support, or want to study for their functional skills.
This project is also available to economically inactive clients too.
This project is fully funded and is delivered through community-based organisations such as ourselves across York and North Yorkshire.
One to one support and mentoring are key elements.
This project is funded by the UK Government part of Levelling Up, find out more here.
Better Connect has formed a partnership with organisations such as ourselves within the local community so these two projects can be successfully delivered within the community.

It is something that I would absolutely recommend to anybody, young or old, who is looking to get in some form of career whether that’s care, a trade or anything else and that they need support to contact them because they will help you from the day you meet them.
Futureworks, for myself and the other learners who completed the course alongside me, has changed my life for the better, going from anxious and confidence-lacking person who stayed in bed for most of the day to who I am now.
Jonny’s confidence has grown so much since he started with us that he’s even stated that he has learned more with us than he did at school. We arranged an interview with the local Skills Village and Jonny to discuss his future and a possible apprenticeship in plastering which was very successful, and Jonny is now on working with them up at the Skills Village.
